What? When? Where? Why?

James McQuade was born in the town of Paddington, Sydney, Australia in 1987. From an early age, he had his breath taken away by the media: cartoons, advertisements, movies, books; and to this day, finds them, and the process that one must take to create these things, just as intriguing.

 

Getting his first computer late in his primary school years, he would spend hours upon hours mucking around with whatever available imaging programs he could get his hands on. Doing things with graphics and playing with HTML and web design became a routine, and soon after, a hobby for him throughout his school years.

 

Unsure of his future career as his high school education came to a close, his art teacher told him to investigate Graphic Design as a possible career choice.

 

Realising that there was in fact a line of work that his hobbies could slip into, he applied to study at the Design Centre, Enmore. During study, he did minor freelancing jobs for 'The Winter Magic Festival', 'W Design' and 'The Media, Entertainment, and Arts Alliance.'

 

In 2006, he left with a Diploma of Graphic Design. He now works at Canvas Design Consultants as an all round designer, and web developer.
